70th Week
Dân•i•eil′  9.27

åÀäÄâÀáÌÄéø áÌÀøÄéú, ìÈøÇáÌÄéí ùÑÈáåÌòÇ àÆçÈã; åÇçÂöÄé äÇùÈáåÌòÇ éÄùÑÀáÌÄéú, æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä, åÀòÇì ëÌÀðÇó ùÑÄ÷ÌåÌöÄéí îÀùÑֹîÅí, åÀòÇã-ëÌÈìÈä åÀðÆçÁøÈöÈä, úÌÄúÌÇêÀ òÇì-ùÑֹîÅí:

Then he will äÄâÀáÌÄéø a áÌÀøÄéú toward many one week; and half a week he will cause the æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä to cease, then, upon a wing of ùÑÄ÷ÌåÌöÄéí he [will be] inflicting ùÑֹîÅîåÉú, and until [the bәrit] is ended or resolved, it will be smelted upon the ‏[ùÑÄ÷ÌåÌõ] ùÑֹîÅí.

Logic Demonstrated By Scientific Method

The scientific method is to develop a hypothesis that makes a prediction. If the prediction proves true then the hypothesis is accepted; if not, the hypothesis is rejected.

All modern "Sages" of eschatology, Jewish as well as Christian, try to fit yesterday's events to Scriptural prophecies. These Monday-morning quarterbacks draw millions of gullible followers by passing hindsight off as foresight. Others, less careful, who have been willing to make predictions based on their interpretations, were all disproven when their predictions didn't happen. Their followers were left on some hilltop awaiting UFOs or their corpses found by police following their suicides.

Scholars have long recognized that this 3½ years refers to the first half of the 70th week of Dân•i•eil′ . At first, this was thought to refer to the first century C.E. For roughly (when it should be reasonably precise) 3½ years the daily sacrifices are (nonsensically) argued to have been maintained during the Roman siege of Yәru•shâ•la′ yim by Vespasian (reigned 69-79 C.E.) and, after him, his son Titus (79-81 C.E.). However, this is all wishful thinking having no documented historical basis and, in fact, contradicted by the historical documentation. "Despite the hardship and privations of this period and the famine which raged, the Temple service continued until the walls of the city were breached by the Romans on the 17th of Tammuz. The tamid [perpetual, i.e., daily] sacrifice then had to be discontinued due to the lack of lambs and qualified priests within the Temple precincts (Ta'an. 4:6; Jos., Wars, 6:94). Three weeks later on the Ninth of Av the Temple was destroyed by the Romans and the sacrificial system came to an end." (Sacrifice, Ency. Jud., 14.612, emphasis added).

The daily sacrifice certainly ceased upon the destruction of Yәru•shâ•la′ yim and the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′  in 70 C.E.

Further, a ha-shi•qutz′  mә•sho•meim′ , under the banner of the Roman eagle (wing), took place soon after. This surely appeared to mark the middle of the 70th week. But the end of goy•im′  control didn't come 3½ years later in 73-4 C.E., nor even 3½ years after that in 77-8 C.E. In retrospect, it is clear from this that the last 3½ prophetic-years (= 1260 "days") were not calendar years or days. The world didn't end.

By contrast, there is one, and only one, exception. This book was first published in 1990, hypothesizing a unique interpretation based on an encryption key that only became "unsealed" in 1948. This hypothesis predicted an evil bәrit to happen in the Judaic year corresponding to 1992-3—more than three years before its predictions occurred in 1993!

This is the only interpretation of Dân•i•eil′  whose predictions for the future were later confirmed by actual events!!! Actual events have confirmed what this book predicted, based on the methodology and straightforward algebraic calculations explained herein, when first published in 1990—3 years before the fact: an infamous pact, incorporating a 7-year schedule, would be struck in 1992-3 that would be disastrous for Israel and that the enemy would violate at its midpoint, 3½ years later. This was 100% correct three years before it came about. A series of well-defined, not vague, then-future events confirmed calculated predictions based on our methodology.

Metonym for a Bәrit: æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä

Having explained the first 69 weeks of years (up through Dan. 9.26), we now turn our attention to the "70th week" of years—a seven-year period—which occurs after the destruction of Yәru•shâ•la′ yim and the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′  described in the previous verse. Thus, æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä in Dan. 9.27 cannot refer to sacrifices on the no-longer-existing Miz•bei′ akh of the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′ !

To what, then, does æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä refer? (Explanations are color-coded to more easily follow parallels.)

To answer this question requires that we first understand what æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä referred to relative to the Miz•bei′ akh in the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′ … where the æÆáÇç åÌîÄðÀçÈä was a metonym specifying "the A-Z" of sacrifices, representing the entire gamut of performance terms—mi•tzәw•ot′ —of the bәrit: Tor•âh′  (reference glossary definition of bәrit).

Only One Passage in Bible Describes An Evil Bәrit

A search of the term bәrit in a Hebrew concordance reveals that there is only one evil bәrit described in the Bible: in Yәsha•yâh′ u 28.

The Displacement Bәrit•ot′ Yәsha•yâh′ u 28.15

Speaking to the "leaders of this am who are in Yәru•shâ•la′ yim" (28.14b), Yәsha•yâh′ u prophesied:

"Because you [the leaders] said, "We have cut a áÌÀøÄéú with îÈåÆú, and with ùÑÀàåÉì, we have made a çÉæÆä; [saying that] the lashing whip that shall pass through shall not come upon us, because we have placed a lie, [to be] our îÇçÂñÆä and in a falsehood ðÄñÀúÌÈøÄðåÌ."

(Yәsha•yâh′ u continues quoting é--ä: Therefore I will send the Mâ•shi′ akh…)

Analyzed Logically In Context: ("Command By Command, Line By Line…")

Yәsha•yâh′ u was an artist of logic.

28.9 Whom is there one may instruct in ãÅòÈä; and to whom may one convey understanding of the ùÑÀîåÌòÈä? Those weaned from çÈìÈá; and those who are retired îÄùÌÑÈãÈéÄí.

10 For it is command by command, command by command; line by line, line by line, a few here and a few there.

11 Because by a derisive lip and in another tongue shall one speak to this kindred12 For he shall say to them, "This is the rest: resting the weary; and this is the relaxation"; but they would not acquiesce to hear. ‎13 And they shall be confronted by the Saying of é--ä: command by command, command by command; line by line, line by line, a few here and a few there on account of they had gone and stumbled backward and were broken and ensnared and captured.

14 Therefore, hearken to the Saying of é--ä, scorning people—leaders of this kindred who are in Yәru•shâ•la′ yim, ‎15 Because you [the leaders] said, "We have cut a áÌÀøÄéú with îÈåÆú, and with ùÑÀàåÉì, we have made a çÉæÆä; [saying that] the lashing whip that shall pass through shall not come upon us, because we have placed a lie, [to be] our îÇçÂñÆä and in a falsehood ðÄñÀúÌÈøÄðåÌ.

16 Therefore, thus says A•don•ai′  é--ä, "Behold I have founded in Tziy•on′  a Stone; a Dear Corner Touchstone Foundation-of-the-Foundation, the believer will not rush [it]. ‎17 and I have placed a mi•shәpât′  for a line, and tzәdâq•âh′  for a weight; and a hail shall sweep-away the îÇçÂñÆä of the lie, åÀñÅúÆø waters shall flush-away. ‎18 Then shall be voided your áÌÀøÄéú with îÈåÆú and your çÉæÆä with ùÑÀàåÉì shall not arise; As the lashing whip shall pass through, you shall be its trampling-grapes. ‎19 As often as [the lashing whip] shall pass through it will take you, for morning by morning it will pass through, morning and night.

Only shuddering will be derived from the understanding of the ùÑÀîåÌòÈä. ‎20 Because the couch is [too] short îÄùÑÀúÌÄøÀôÌÆéí åÀäÇîÀñÇëÀñÀëÈä áÌÀäÄúÀëÌÇðÌÅñ, ‎21 (because [it will be] at Har Pәrâtz•im′  é--ä will rise, in Givon He will be riled) for practicing [the lie's] practice—its practice is zâr, and working [the falsehood's] work—its a•vod•âh′  is foreign.

(Notice that the two displacement theologies are complementary elements, paralleling the lie and the falsehood, of a•vod•âh′  zâr•âh′ .)

The áÌÀøÄéú of the ùÑÉîÅí

Since the account of the destruction of Yәru•shâ•la′ yim and the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′  is contained in the previous verse (9.26), the cessation of "the sacrifice and presentation-offering" in this verse, the product of this desolating áÌÀøÄéú of the desolator, can only refer to a new, post-70 C.E. cessation of "the sacrifice and presentation-offering"—unrelated to the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′  or Miz•bei′ akh. Thus, this áÌÀøÄéú is an undefined new desolating áÌÀøÄéú that ushers in a new desolation on Biblical Jews of Israel.

An excellent argument can be made that this new desolating áÌÀøÄéú is the áÌÀøÄéú çÂãÈùÑÈä, i.e. "New Testament," of the Christians. Their NT, after all, is the redactional work of the idolatrous Hellenist Romans, and their Hellenist Roman ðÈâÄéã (cf. 9.26), who destroyed Yәru•shâ•la′ yim and the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′ , causing the cessation of "the sacrifice and presentation-offering." Furthermore, their NT is an intractable contradiction, therefore a desolation, of Tor•âh′ . However, the Roman destruction of Yәru•shâ•la′ yim and the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′  and the cessation of "the sacrifice and presentation-offering" in 70 C.E. preceded their "áÌÀøÄéú çÂãÈùÑÈä" by 2-3 centuries while this verse gives the order of this áÌÀøÄéú preceding the cessation of "the sacrifice and presentation-offering" – ruling out the NT.

Others may venture that the áÌÀøÄéú refers to The Nәtzârim Reconstruction of Hebrew Matityâhu (NHM) 26.28-29. However, while this áÌÀøÄéú indeed precedes the destruction of Yәru•shâ•la′ yim, the Beit ha-Mi•qәdâsh′  and the corresponding cessation of "the sacrifice and presentation-offering," it certainly couldn't have preceded the kâ•reit′  of the Mâ•shi′ akh (9.26), rendering this interpretation impossible as well.

A priori, this verse describes a áÌÀøÄéú that demarcates the beginning of a future, 7-year "week"—within the "70th Week of Danieil," a áÌÀøÄéú that produces "the wing of loathsome-things" upon which some new Displacement Theology Desolator inflicts a new desolation on Biblical Jews of Israel.

Confusing the 70th Week of Danieil with this 7 calendar-year áÌÀøÄéú within it, Christians have labeled this Hellenist Roman ðÈâÄéã (cf. 9.26), who will be the other party to this áÌÀøÄéú with Israel, as the "antichrist" who, they interpret, ushers in the "Great Tribulation." However, they are correct in perceiving it to be a 7 calendar-year "peace" pact between the desolator ("antichrist") and Israel, which the desolator ("antichrist") will then break after 3½ years. Since the more ignorant Christians believe in a "Rapture" (in which, they believe, Yësh"u will yank them into the heavens before the "Great Tribulation," saving them from it), they cannot comprehend this 7 year áÌÀøÄéú having already been fulfilled… because it would mean that it is they who have been "Left Behind."

Most fascinating, while Danieil 12.7 defines the 1260 day mark, the midpoint of the "70th Week of Dân•i•eil′ ," as the end of the "shattering of the hand of the holy kindred"—i.e., 1948, Danieil 12.11 goes on to pinpoint the start of this 7 calendar-year áÌÀøÄéú to the "1290 days" mark.

"Dân•i•eil′ 's 70th Week"

Dân•i•eil′  describes the first half of this 7-year period, "1260 days" (3½ years), extending:

This occurred in 1948 (Dân•i•eil′  7.26-27; 9.26-27; 12.1-4, 7)!!! Since this is the midpoint, this first half of the seven-prophetic "year" period, described by Dân•i•eil′  as 3½ prophetic "years" = 42 prophetic "months" = 1260 prophetic "yâm•im′ ," the reemergence of Israel as a nation in 1948, confirmed by the subsequent regathering, "unsealed" this prophecy, allowing, for the first time in history, each "prophetic day" (prophetic time unit or PTU) to be mathematically correlated to actual years:

1260 PTU = (1948-70=) 1878 actual years!!!

Then we can compute the value of one of Dân•i•eil′ 's "days": 1878 actual years ÷ 1260 PTUs ≅ 1.49 years!!!

This 70th week began with the Israel's loss of nationhood in 70 C.E.; beginning the era of the goy•im′  Hellenist-Christian Roman Empire and the religious çÅéåÈä it spawned. This was confirmed by the identification of the 11th ÷ÆøÆï, Bishop Narcissus, in 196 C.E., the era that continued until 1948. The 70th week could not have been seven actual years since we are long past 77 C.E. and the world didn't end.
